Journey Home East specializes in serving young women who have successfully completed a residential treatment program and/or therapeutic boarding school and have demonstrated significant progress indicating their readiness for a life-skills based transitional living program. However, it is recognized that a transition period is necessary to support and provide these young women with the best chance of ongoing success.
Depending on a resident’s individualized Healthy Living Plan.
As one of the best independent living programs for young adults, students living in the Journey Home East would attend a local high school or college, and learn to take responsibility of a variety of life-skills oriented topics (i.e. shopping, meal preparation, maintaining cleanliness of living space and property, budgeting, transportation, time management, gaining employment, appropriate recreation, personal hygiene, nutrition, fitness, etc.).
